"Voor de nieuwe rotonde op de driesprong bij de entree van Groesbeek is een bijzonder kunstwerk ontworpen door de Nederlandse kunstenaars Blok&Lugthart. De grote sculptuur met de titel Bergen en Dalen staat centraal op de rotonde en wordt gevormd door de contourlijn van een grote ijsbeer die in de open ruimte lijkt getekend.
De grote IJsbeer verwijst naar het ontstaan van het landschap in de voorlaatste ijstijd. Tevens refereert de sculptuur naar de Canadese begraafplaats langs de Zeven-heuvelenweg waar de Polar Bear de mascotte is van de 49th Brits/Canadese divisie.
In dit gebied waar bergen en dalen elkaar afwisselen en op deze plek waar jaarlijks vele duizenden wandelaars passeren vormt het kunst werk Bergen en Dalen een poëtische verbeelding van het ontstaan van de nieuwe – en dynamische gemeente Berg en Dal en het bijzondere landschap waarin het is gelegen."

"A special work of art has been designed by the Dutch artists Blok & Lugthart for the new roundabout at the three-way intersection at the entrance to Groesbeek. The large sculpture with the title Bergen en Dalen is centrally located on the roundabout and is formed by the contour line of a large polar bear standing in the open space seems drawn.
The large Polar Bear refers to the origins of the landscape in the penultimate Ice Age. The sculpture also refers to the Canadian cemetery along the Zeven-heuvelenweg where the Polar Bear is the mascot of the 49th British/Canadian division.
In this area where mountains and valleys alternate and in this place where many thousands of hikers pass every year, the Bergen en Dalen artwork is a poetic representation of the origins of the new and dynamic municipality of Berg en Dal and the special landscape in which it is located. ."
