This is the replacement station to CRAINTE 1946 (HT2457) which was removed in 1950 due to new construction nearby. Reference Mark CRAINTE RM1 is also in the vicinity of CRAINTE 2. RM1 was installed for the original station and has been repurposed for CRAINTE 2, although the arrow on RM1 does not point in the direction of the new station location.
The location is in City of Walnut Creek Sugarloaf Open Space. There are multiple accesses into the open space. The main entrance is at the end of Youngs Valley Road. This will put you in proximity to the picnic area and group camping area. There is no need for any cross country hiking. Please be sure to use maintained trails to visit the site.
