"In the Guadix cemetery three areas can be distinguished, the original one, with a rectangular plan, with burials in the ground and niches around it, to which two new enclosures are joined on its sides, in which the niches prevail and are ornamented with marble or granite tombstone and floral arrangements.

It is surrounded by a high, stepped, whitewashed fence, with a tile finish. Vegetation flanks the main roads, minor vegetation is scarce. The current entrance is a doorway with an arch, made of exposed brick, with molding and a small dice finish that supports a cross.

The previous access to the first extension, now located inside the cemetery, has a semicircular arch, from this door a path begins, escorted by cypresses, to the Chapel, located on the opposite front.
It is worth highlighting the width and organization according to the relief, especially in the new part with small groups, the Chapel, the trees and the doorways.

Among the graves is that of Pedro Antonio de Alarcón's mother.
The cemetery dates back to the end of the last century, the oldest graves are those of Dª Tomasa Pelayo (1871) and Dª Soledad Espejo y Godoy y Fernández Manrique (1876)."
