Sitting at the location is a 100 foot tall obelisk. The tip of the structure is dressed in the colors of the United States flag. This monument was constructed under the guidance of the Suffolk County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Committee in 1991. The monument acknowledges the service and sacrifice of all Vietnam Veterans, those who died, those who were wounded, and the men and women who served.
Stephen Hayduk Engineering,P.C. of Port Jefferson created the design, which won an architectural design competition.
