EN: The Jardin du Luxembourg is a park in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It is located south of the Palais du Luxembourg, which now houses the Sénate, the Upper house of the French parliament.

The park was founded around 1611. Over the centuries it changed its shape many times. Several segments were added or cut off and overbuilt. Today the park has an area of about 23 hectares and is considered one of the 20 most famous parks of the world.

The park contains countless sculptures, fountains. a lake, tennis lawns and other sports areas. It is very popular with local families and students of the nearby universities.

The park appears in several books from famous athors as Victor Hugo, André Gide, Herny James, or William Faulkner.
