[FR] L'existence du moulin de la Chappe est attestée en 1241 sous l'appellation de « Charasse » ou « Charosses » car il était situé sur une voie romaine carrossable au niveau d'un pont aujourd'hui disparu recouvert d'une chape. Aujourd’hui seul le Moulin de la Chappe est en activité. Le moulin a été reconstruit suite à une inondation en 1428 par les propriétaires.

Au XVIIe siècle ont été construits un radier en équerre, fait de dalles de pierres et d’un pont qui reliait le moulin à la ville. En 1818 un déversoir se bâti, haussé en 1828 et entièrement reconstruit en béton en 1873. L’ensemble des bâtiments anciens du moulin de la Chappe et les ouvrages hydrauliques qui lui sont associés sont inscrits au titre des monuments historiques par arrêté du 9 février 2022.

[EN] The existence of the Moulin de la Chappe is attested to in 1241 under the name of "Charasse" or "Charosses", as it was located on a Roman carriage road at the level of a bridge that has now disappeared and is covered by a screed. Today, only the Moulin de la Chappe remains in operation. The mill was rebuilt by the owners following a flood in 1428.

In the 17th century, an angled invert made of stone slabs and a bridge linking the mill to the town were built. A weir was built in 1818, raised in 1828 and completely rebuilt in concrete in 1873. All the old buildings of the Moulin de la Chappe and the associated hydraulic works were listed as historic monuments by decree on February 9, 2022.
