The Sale Powder Magazine was erected in 1864 on a peninsula formed by a meander of Flooding Creek. The red face brick, slate clad gabled main roofed, Sale Powder Magazine measures 10.5x5.8 m with a small porch 3x2 m, centrally placed on the western elevation. Internally the magazine has a brick barrel vaulted ceiling.
At one stage the building was extended into a residence, but all non-original additions have now been removed.
