EN: These public fountains were named after English philantropist Richard Wallace, who designed and financed them. The final artwork and the sculptures were created by by Wallace's friend Charles-Auguste Lebourg. They were erectad after 1872 and soon became a symbol for Paris.
Still today there are almost one hundred wallace fountains in action throughout Paris.
This one is located is a small park next to Avenue du Maine opposite the town hall of the 14th arrondissement of Paris.
FR: Ces fontaines publiques portent le nom du philanthrope anglais Richard Wallace, qui les a conçues et financées. L'œuvre d'art finale et les sculptures ont été créées par Charles-Auguste Lebourg, un ami de Wallace. Elles ont été érigées après 1872 et sont rapidement devenues un symbole de Paris.
Aujourd'hui encore, près d'une centaine de fontaines Wallace sont en action dans tout Paris.
Celle-ci est située dans un petit parc de l'avenue du Maine, en face de la mairie du 14e arrondissement de Paris.
