The original single storey Victorian Rustic Gothic style stone inn was erected in the mid 1840s, but little remains except for a Gothic fireplace and a six panelled door.
Since 1849, the building has been extensively rebuilt, with a large central tower, a complete attic storey and replacement of fittings.
