The M1 90mm anti-aircraft gun entered service with the US Army in 1940 and was being fielded when the US entered WWII in December 1941. Federalized National Guard troops in the Phillipines used these guns in action shooting down several Japanese planes before the surrender of US forces and the Bataan Death March. These guns would serve throughout the war and into the cold war being deployed across the US before being replaced by Nike Missiles.
