This dated building which houses a deluxe four stars hotel is located on Muskross Rd, Cahernane Townland, Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland.
Cahernane House was built as the family residence of Henry Herbert in 1877 at cost of £5,992. The work was carried out by Collen Brothers Contractors. The original plans by architect James Franklin Fuller. One generation on, the Herbert family had fallen on hard times and the property was being utilised as a hotel.
Situated on its own private estate on the edge of Killarney National Park, and only a twenty-minute walk to Killarney town centre, this hotel is a unique experience of old Irish history mixed with modern luxuries.
The hotel offers 48 spacious guest rooms with all commodities across three wings. It also has its own restaurant, "The Herbert’s Restaurant" (which can accomodate up to 80 guests), and its own bar, "The Cellar Bar".
The hotel is the perfect base for anyone looking to explore the stunning town of Killarney and its picturesque surroundings. Take a bike, drive or walk to the incredible scenery and historic heritage spots that the famous tourist destination has to offer.
