"La que en sus orígenes fuese una pequeña ermita dedicada a la Veracruz y más tarde, tras su decadencia a finales del XVI y principios del XVII, sirviera como alojamiento a los soldados que estaban de paso, es ahora una de las iglesias barrocas más representativas de la provincia.
Esta joya arquitectónica, catalogada como Patrimonio Histórico Andaluz, consta de una nave con bóveda de cañón rebajada, arcos fajones y lunetos, con cinco capillas laterales, presbiterio, camarín con estructura octagonal y muros revestidos de mármol rojo y negro.
A la izquierda del templo hay un pequeño jardín. Se piensa que se pudo construir sobre un templo de estilo mudéjar. Tras sufrir varias remodelaciones desde su construcción en el siglo XVI, la última fue concluida en 1999.
Accedemos al templo mediante la portada de piedra adintelada y compuesta por pilastras toscanas, sobre las que descansa un frontón partido que abraza un balcón.
Encima de la portada nos encontramos también con un escudo del Marquesado de Estepa. La fachada del templo está rematada por una espadaña.
La imagen de la titular data del siglo XVI-XVII y es anónima, aunque se atribuye a la escuela granadina. El niño que sujeta no es el original, y se piensa que es anterior a la talla de la Virgen.
En el interior del templo debemos destacar varios bienes y piezas como los retablos realizados por la Escuela Antequerana, en el siglo XVIII, el camarín de la titular, el Retablo Mayor, de la Escuela Ecijana, varias tallas del siglo XVI-XVII, una casulla del XVI y otra del XVIII.
Como curiosidad, hay varias leyendas sobre la Virgen de los Remedios, tales como que la imagen es realmente la Virgen del Rocío o que la titular estuvo siempre ligada a los bandoleros de la comarca.Podemos reseñar que la mayor parte de la obra arquitectónica fue realizada a mediados del siglo XVIII por Cristóbal García. Por otra parte, la fábrica del camarín es obra de Nicolás Bautista de Morales y data de los años 1758-1760."

"What was originally a small hermitage dedicated to Veracruz and later, after its decline at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century, served as accommodation for soldiers who were passing through, is now one of the most representative baroque churches from the province.
This architectural jewel, listed as Andalusian Historical Heritage, consists of a nave with a lowered barrel vault, transverse arches and lunettes, with five side chapels, a presbytery, a dressing room with an octagonal structure and walls covered in red and black marble.
To the left of the temple there is a small garden. It is thought that it could have been built on a Mudejar style temple. After undergoing several renovations since its construction in the 16th century, the last one was completed in 1999.
We access the temple through the linteled stone doorway composed of Tuscan pilasters, on which rests a split pediment that embraces a balcony.
Above the cover we also find a shield of the Marquisate of Estepa. The façade of the temple is topped by a belfry.
The image of the owner dates from the 16th-17th century and is anonymous, although it is attributed to the Granada school. The child she is holding is not the original, and it is thought to be before the carving of the Virgin.
Inside the temple we must highlight several assets and pieces such as the altarpieces made by the Antequerana School, in the 18th century, the owner's dressing room, the Main Altarpiece, from the Ecijana School, several carvings from the 16th-17th century, a chasuble from the XVI and another from the XVIII.
As a curiosity, there are several legends about the Virgen de los Remedios, such as that the image is really the Virgen del Rocío or that the owner was always linked to the bandits of the region. We can note that most of the architectural work was carried out in the mid-18th century by Cristóbal García. On the other hand, the dressing room factory is the work of Nicolás Bautista de Morales and dates from the years 1758-1760."
