"Villanueva de Cauche es una pedanía de Antequera.

Se encuentra situada en el Puerto de las Pedrizas en una meseta de 635m. de altitud, justo donde se encuentran la Autopista del Guadalmedina y la autovía A-45. junto a la Peña Negra de 1361 mts.

Esta pedanía se formó con las casas de los trabajadores del Castillo de Cauche. El Castillo de los Marqueses de Cauche se quemó en un incendio en 1849 y estaba donde ahora está el cortijo de las Marquesas.

Hasta hace pocos años Villanueva de Cauche era el último feudo de España y los vecinos tenian que pagar a las Marquesas con las mejores frutas, huevos o gallinas.
Las últimas Marquesas de Cauche fueron las hermanas Carmen y Teresa de Rojas Arrese fallecidas sin descendencia. Cuando murieron las Marquesas los bienes pasaron a ser administrados por su sobrino, José Luis Moreno de Rojas, a través de la sociedad Cauche Peña S .L.
El pueblo está rodeado de unas preciosas vistas. Es un pueblo muy tranquilo con tres calles llamadas Málaga, Sevilla y Granada.

Las calles y la plaza están siempre muy limpias y nos invitan a pasear y olvidar el estres de las grandes ciudades.En el pueblo no hay tiendas ni otro tipo de negocios, salvo el bar La Peña que los domingos ofrece buenas comidas".

"Villanueva de Cauche is a district of Antequera.

It is located in Puerto de las Pedrizas on a 635m plateau. of altitude, right where the Guadalmedina Highway and the A-45 highway meet. next to the Peña Negra of 1361 meters.

This district was formed with the houses of the Cauche Castle workers. The Castle of the Marquises of Cauche burned in a fire in 1849 and was where the Marquesas farmhouse is now.

Until a few years ago, Villanueva de Cauche was the last fiefdom of Spain and the neighbors had to pay the Marquesas with the best fruits, eggs or chickens.
The last Marchionesses of Cauche were the sisters Carmen and Teresa de Rojas Arrese, who died without issue. When the Marquesas died, the assets became administered by their nephew, José Luis Moreno de Rojas, through the company Cauche Peña S.L.
The town is surrounded by beautiful views. It is a very quiet town with three streets called Málaga, Sevilla and Granada.

The streets and the square are always very clean and invite us to walk and forget the stress of big cities. In the town there are no shops or other types of businesses, except for the La Peña bar which offers good meals on Sundays.
