La Estación de tren de Antequera abrió al tráfico en el año 1865 y se creó con la finalidad de unir la localidad con Granada, hecho que se consiguió años más tarde.
Antiguamente la estación contaba con 2 andenes y 4 vías y estába operada por RENFE que realizaba recorridos de media distancia.
Hoy en día aunque se conserva intacta ( a pocos metros está la estación del AVE) ya no está abierta al tráfico ferroviario.
The Antequera Train Station opened to traffic in 1865 and was created with the purpose of linking the town with Granada, a fact that was achieved years later.
Previously, the station had 2 platforms and 4 tracks and was operated by RENFE, which carried out medium-distance routes.
Today, although it is preserved intact (a few meters away is the AVE station), it is no longer open to rail traffic.
