"The world's largest wooden Christian church is the Kerimäki church in Kerimäki, Finland. It measures: 45 m (147 ft 7 in) long, 42 m (137 ft 9 in) wide and 27 m (88 ft 6 in) high. Its dome is 37 m (121 ft 4 in) high. The seating capacity is 3,000, whereas standing capacity is 5,000 people." Guinness World Records (

The church was designed by the Finnish architect AF Granstedt, and construction was completed on 25 September 1847. It is a masterpiece of carpentry with its chairs, columns, galleries, tie beams, arches, dome and lanterns and all men between the ages of 15 and 60 were required to take part in the building. The church was completed in three years
In the summer, around 50,000 people from all over the world come to visit the church.
