"Enclavada en el cerro de la Silera y sobre una antigua ermita, la Iglesia de los Desamparados se comenzó a construir en 1734 como capilla-humilladero dedicada a la Virgen de los Desamparados, en Aguilar de la Frontera.

A mediados de 1790 se produce una reedificación de la iglesia, gracias a la generosidad de los hermanos Gorgonio y Teresa de León, consagrándose en 1799. A mediados-finales del siglo XIX pasó a manos particulares, hasta que en el año 2002 fue adquirida por el Ayuntamiento para su puesta en valor cultural.

En la actualidad, el conjunto de edificios está destinado a dependencias municipales, Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza y espacio escénico polivalente."

"Nestled on the Silera hill and on an old hermitage, the Church of the Desamparados began to be built in 1734 as a chapel-humilladero dedicated to the Virgin of the Desamparados, in Aguilar de la Frontera.

In the mid-1790s, the church was rebuilt, thanks to the generosity of the brothers Gorgonio and Teresa de León, and it was consecrated in 1799. In the mid-late 19th century it passed into private hands, until 2002 when it was acquired by the City Council for its cultural value.

Currently, the set of buildings is intended for municipal offices, the Municipal School of Music and Dance and a multipurpose stage space."
