Mr. Cranfill was a grandson of George Eaton Cranfill, an early area settler whose family name lives on in the nearby community. He and his wife, Willie L. Cranfills, share a modern, gray granite headstone with the family name prominent on each side. The Woodmen of the World emblem separates their names and dates on the front, and they read:
