Not far from the road is the grave of Emma Smith. A short walk will bring you to this sad grave of 2 year old Emma Smith. She died here, during the transportation of copper from Blinman to Port Augusta, along this route in the early 1860's. The monument was erected by the National Parks and Wildlife Service 1991"
