PT: "Este espaço museológico, na Fortaleza, situa-se na antiga "Hospedaria Militar" e ex quartel dos bombeiros, resulta do esforço e dedicação de Manuel Sobral, que foi voluntário desta Associação Humanitária entre 1944 e 1981, desempenhando, entretanto, alguns cargos de Direcção na referida instituição e também nos Bombeiros Voluntários de Viana do Castelo.

Esta coleção, que integra cerca de 4000 peças, evoca um pouco da história destes Soldados da Paz, havendo peças representativas de muitos países do mundo, desde capacetes, Bomba Braçal de 1787 e 1854, e todos os instrumentos ligados a este ofício de combate ao fogo.

EN: "This museum space, in Fortaleza, is located in the former "Hospedaria Militar" and former fire station, resulting from the effort and dedication of Manuel Sobral, who was a volunteer at this Humanitarian Association between 1944 and 1981, performing, in the meantime, some management positions at the aforementioned institution and also at the Viana do Castelo Volunteer Fire Department.

This collection, which includes around 4000 pieces, evokes a little of the history of these Peace Soldiers, with pieces representing many countries around the world, from helmets, Bomba Braçal from 1787 and 1854, and all the instruments linked to this craft of combating fire.
