The RR Archives site says it is in someone's back yard. They did not work very hard at that. It is behind the old Brewery, which is now a museum.

County of caboose: St. Charles County
Location of caboose: Bayard St. & N 2nd St., behind museum, St. Charles

What little I could dig up. The caboose is shown in many photos, but all are on the open tracks, still rolling stock.
The caboose is stye: AAR Type: M930
It was built in 1929, by the American Car Factory and was relocated to behind the museum in 2003. Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Boshears, along with numerous volunteers have restored the caboose. The caboose now serves as a learning center for children and is available for public rental

From the photos I found it has been here, since 2003 or slightly before.

I worked for MoPac (Missouri Pacific RR) in 1964, (Mechanical Engineering Depart., draftsman) when the Federal Government dictated all rolling stock be re-numbered. This is when the 6 digit numbering system was created, to accommodate computers and record keeping. I help develop the categories for the numbers, (i.e. 99xxxx numbers for working stock, etc)

PS: Note the American Car Foundry in which this caboose was built is about a block away from this display.

Current Use:
The caboose now serves as a learning center for children and is available for public rental. Is a display at a museum.

Type Of Caboose: Cupola, "Standard"
