op het info bord staat:
de kerk staat op hoog terrein (de kerkenhof)
dat in de ijzertijd reeds was bewoond. Op de plaats van het huidige koor stond oorspronkelijk een houten, later een turfstenen kapel.
Tussen 1200 en 1225 werd het huidige schip in romaansestijl aangebouwd.
In 1439 werd de genoemde kapel vervangen door een koor in laat gotische stijl.
de huidige consistoriekamer werd in de 18e eeuw gebouwd.
de kerk werd in 1944 zwaar beschadigd en tusse 1948 en 1950 weer hersteld.

the church is on high ground (the church court)
that was already inhabited in the Iron Age. A wooden chapel, later a peat stone chapel, originally stood on the site of the current choir.
The current nave was added in Romanesque style between 1200 and 1225.
In 1439 the said chapel was replaced by a choir in late Gothic style.
the current consistory room was built in the 18th century.
the church was severely damaged in 1944 and restored between 1948 and 1950.
