"According to tradition, the image of the Christ of the Light protected the town of Aguilar de la Frontrera from an epidemic at the beginning of the 17th century. Thus, in 1611, the neighborhood acquired that house where the carving was venerated to build a hermitage dedicated in his honor, calling it since then the Holy Christ of Health.

With a single nave, it has altarpieces and attached chapels, and is covered with a lowered vault. The main altar is covered with a dome on pendentives and has a main altarpiece (José González, 1799-1783) presided over by the Christ of Health, a small sculpture (mid-late 17th century).

Other heritage elements of interest are the baroque stone doorway, the altarpiece and image of Saint Christopher, with Mannerist aesthetics, or the eighteenth-century carvings of Saint Michael and the Jesuit saint Saint Francis Xavier, among others.

At the end of San Cristobal Street is the Camino de Vado Castro, where the Gil Gómez Cross is located (First half of the 16th century).
