“Maricopa Wild Horses,” is a city-wide sculpture project and arts initiative by City Manager Rick Horst and was unveiled at City Hall. Sculptures of horses decorated by local artists were presented to the public.

This sculpture by artist Troy Talmadge called “Earth Spirit” measures 51? tall and 84? long. The head is colored purple with a large white feather on the left side and a rainbow on the right. On the left side of the horse there is a desert scene with 2 wild horses running free across the desert floor. The body on the right side is light blue with spiraling clouds. On the rear hip of the horse is a picture of an Indian man with long black hair and feathers forming the clouds with his breath.
