“Maricopa Wild Horses,” is a city-wide sculpture project and arts initiative by City Manager Rick Horst and was unveiled at City Hall. Sculptures of horses decorated by local artists were presented to the public.

This sculpture by artist Bonnie DelTurco, titled “Gila River Runner,” measures 51? tall and 84? long. The horse is brown with tan patches. On its back and sides rides an Indian girl and boy wrapped in tribal clothing. Black and white feathers adorn the horse.
