"San Jaime de Viladrover o de los Bastones se encuentra aislada, cerca de una masía, a 2 km de Balenyà. Se trata de un edificio de una nave , cubierta con bóveda de cañón con lunetos y arcos torales, copada por un ábside semicircular con decoración de arcuaciones bajo friso de dientes de sierra de construido a principios del siglo xx . Al lado de tramontana se añadió el cuerpo de la sacristía . Conserva la puerta original en el muro de mediodía, de arco de medio punto con dovelas bicolores, aunque ha sido cegada. El acceso actual se encuentra en la fachada de poniente donde hay una puerta rectangular bajo un frontónsemicircular del siglo xvii y una ventana en forma de cruz. Lo más destacable es el campanario, de planta ligeramente romboidal de tres pisos de altura, que descansa sobre la bóveda en el extremo oeste de la nave. A pesar de las modificaciones de época barroca , conserva algunas de las ventanas románicas geminadas con columna y capitel mensuliforme y la decoración de arcuaciones bajo el friso de dientes de sierra de tipo lombardo.
Fue sufragania de Sant Martí del Brull hasta el siglo XIX , momento en que se convirtió en parroquia. La primera noticia documental del templo data de 1029. En aquella fecha era de propiedad privada, perteneciente a la masía Viladrover. En 1372 fue vendida al canónigo de Vic Pere Berenguer. En 1685 fue renovada por completo la bóveda y en 1689 se construyó una capilla nueva en tramontana. En 1926 fue nuevamente reformada con la construcción del ábside y con la prolongación de la nave . Actualmente es una parroquia autónoma y su estado de conservación es óptimo."
