This camping shelter is located along the Pennsylvania Mid State Trail, which follows the Lower Rails to Trails for sixteen miles. The shelter is free to thru hikers following the Mid State Trail.

The camping shelter is located near the Lower Trail Mount Etna Station Trail head along Fox Hollow Road. Dimensions of the shelter are approximately L 12’ X W 8’ X H 7’. The shelter has three sides an a steel roof. It is constructed of dimensional lumber with a raised floor and a bench/ bed attached to the rear wall. There are a few informational posters as well as instructions for use tacked to the walls.
Directly in front of the structure is a fire ring with a supply of fire wood to the side. Closer to the trailhead are two pavilions with tables and a primitive privy.
The Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River is about 50 yards the the east of the shelter.
There is also room for several tents to be set up around the area. This camping area is for thru-hikers only.
