The 422-seat Long Theatre was the first in Keyes, opening on May 31, 1947. At the time, the town had a population of 227. Lewis W. "Bill" Long was the owner of the house. The theater was operated by the family and closed after Bill died in 1973. The current owner, Blake Wells, plans to restore the theater to its former Art Deco glory. The red-brick building still sports the original "Long Theatre" neon sign. Hopefully the Long Theatre neon will shine once again!
