visit link) on the grounds of the Whyte Museum. G. William (Bill) Vroom (1931-1998) was a national park warden at Banff from 1955 until 1988.. In August 1966, he was one of three wardens involved in a helicopter rescue of two stranded climbers. (

While a warden, he researched grizzly bear ecology and behaviour, and was lead author on a paper about grizzly den sites in 1980. (
visit link) In the course of his research, he found a cave, now called the Vroom Closet.
Vroom was in charge of the cabin’s restoration in 1985.
