[FR] Le château du Bailli a été construit au XV siècle, intégré aux remparts. Il ne reste de l'édifice d'origine que ce corps de bâtiment, la tour et les anciens éléments de défense: les corbeaux qui soutenaient le chemin de ronde et les mâchicoulis.

Le Bailli était le représentant du seigneur de la Tour d'Auvergne, chargé de collecter l'impôt et de faire respecter la justice seigneuriale selon les principes de la charte de franchise de 1270. Il était aussi chargé d'organiser la sécurité de la ville.

[EN] The Château du Bailli was built in the 15th century as part of the ramparts. All that remains of the original edifice are the main building, the tower and the old defensive elements: the corbels supporting the parapet walk and the machicolations.

The Bailli was the representative of the lord of La Tour d'Auvergne, responsible for collecting taxes and enforcing seigniorial justice in accordance with the principles of the 1270 charter of franchise. He was also responsible for organizing the town's security.
