Conestogo Calibration Baseline Pillars

This waymark represents a set of six concrete pillars along the north side of Sawmill Road (Waterloo Regional Road 17) in Conestogo, Ontario. Each pillar is wrapped with a high-visibility reflective orange band with red and white edging and is surrounded by several steel poles to protect it from light impacts. The pillars are numbered 1, 1A, 2, 3, 4 and 5, but these numbers do not appear on the pillars. Each pillar was originally identified by a reflective orange sign reading "Active GPS Survey Monument" but several of these signs have been removed or knocked down. Pillar 2 also bears a bronze bolt on the back with a unique monument number. At the time this waymark was published, all pillars are in good condition.

Visiting any of the six pillars is sufficient for logging a visit to this Waymark. Parking for pillar 1 can be found on the nearby side street, Musselman Cres. Parking for the other five pillars is roadside as Sawmill Rd. has a wide gravel shoulder.
