This dove of peace is located on a granite grave marker in a small cemetery in Rocky Mount, N.C. The dove faces to the left with wings spread upward in flight and an olive branch in its beak. It is situated on the uppermost part of the marker with a scroll of flowers beneath it with the word 'HOPE' inscribed below. The top structure of the monument is broken off from the base. The inscription on the marker reads:
