Die sich erhebenden Alpen bietet dir unser faszinierender Baumkronenweg. Die imposante Holzkonstruktion führt über 480 Meter durch die Baumwipfel des Lech-Auwaldes. Auf bis zu 21 Meter Höhe kannst du die Vogelperspektive genießen und sogar die Landesgrenze zwischen Bayern (D) und Tirol (AT) mit einem bewussten Schritt überqueren.
Wahrhaft grenzüberschreitend ist unser Baumkronenweg, der im Jahr 2013 eröffnet wurde. Von vier soliden Säulen, deren Fundament bis zu 14 Meter in die Tiefe reicht, wird die Konstruktion aus Lärchenholz getragen. Die Architektur wirkt dennoch leicht und fügt sich natürlich in den Auwald ein.
Die Grenze zwischen Deutschland und Österreich liegt mitten auf der Strecke des Baumkronenweges: Zwei Lärchenbretter sind auf der Holzbrücke mit den Flagge Bayerns weiß-blau und den Tiroler Landesfarben rot-weiß gekennzeichnet. Ein einziger Schritt genügt, und du befindest dich in einem anderen Land.
Start in den Baumkronenweg
Die grazile Holzkonstruktion beginnt zwischen dem Ausstellungs- und WC-Gebäude. Der Eingang ist leicht durch das Info- und Kassenhäuschen zu erkennen. In der Hochsaison kann der Baumkronenweg auch über die Tiroler Seite erkundet werden. Am P2 steht dafür eigens ein kleines hölzerne Info- und Kassenhäuschen.
Mit vier Spannweiten von 80-100 Metern Länge lädt dich der frei schwingende Pfad zum Spazieren von einer Plattform zur nächsten ein. Hier kannst du auf einer unserer Holzbänke Platz nehmen, die Aussicht genießen und dem außergewöhnlichen Moment der Ruhe zwischen Wald und Himmel nachspüren.
Eingebettet liegt der Baumkronenweg in unser waldpädagogisches Konzept: Die Ausstellung „Mein Wald“, die Erlebnispfade rund ums Haus und der Waldimbiss machen deinen Tag zu einem erholsamen, vergnüglichen und lehrreichen Naturerlebnis."

Alps rising up offers you our fascinating treetop trail. The impressive wooden construction leads over 480 meters through the treetops of the Lech-Auwald. At heights of up to 21 meters, you can enjoy a bird's eye view and even cross the border between Bavaria (D) and Tyrol (AT) with a deliberate step.
Truly cross-border is our treetop trail, which was opened in 2013. The construction made of larch wood is supported by four solid pillars, whose foundation reaches up to 14 meters into the depth. The architecture nevertheless appears light and blends naturally into the alluvial forest.
The border between Germany and Austria lies in the middle of the route of the treetop trail: two larch boards on the wooden bridge are marked with the flag of Bavaria white-blue and the Tyrolean national colors red-white. A single step is enough and you find yourself in another country.
Start into the treetop path
The graceful wooden construction begins between the exhibition and WC building. The entrance is easily recognizable by the information and ticket booth. In high season, the treetop path can also be explored via the Tyrolean side. At P2 there is a small wooden information and ticket booth especially for this purpose.
With four spans of 80-100 meters in length, the freely swinging path invites you to stroll from one platform to the next. Here you can take a seat on one of our wooden benches, enjoy the view and feel the extraordinary moment of tranquility between forest and sky.
The treetop path is embedded in our forest educational concept: the exhibition "My Forest", the adventure paths around the house and the forest snack make your day a relaxing, enjoyable and educational nature experience."
