The Second Congregational Church established in 1856. The church became a Congregational Christian Church in 1931. The Congregational Christian Churches formed the United Church of Christ by uniting with the Evangelical and Reformed Churches in 1957. In 1961 the church became a member of the United Church of Christ. The present building was completed and dedicated in one year later in 1962. In 1963 the church was renamed the United Church of Christ Second Congregational Church.

The front of the church has a set of steps leading up to a semi-circular projecting pavilion that has two entrances divided by three set of 12 vertically 4 by 3 vertically arranged windows in the center and at the ends. Above each set of doors are 7 vertically arranged windows grouped is sets of 2-3-2. The façade is completely covered with crosslet crosses. A large simplified Celtic is located in above the entrance pavilion.

The sides have five sets of vertically oriented windows. Above is a gable roof with a two stage pyramidal steeple. An addition projects from the back to the east to give the building its L shape. The addition has an entrance on the west side and five set of floor to ceiling multi-pane windows.
