[EN] “The Bridge of Medina, over the river Arevalillo, is one of the most outstanding civil works in the locality and consists of three slightly pointed arches of triple archivolt.

The Bridge of Medina, over the river Arevalillo, from the 14th century, with three pointed arches that repeat the system of multiple archivolt and alfiz and two smaller, blind arches at the ends. At the base of the centres there are doors that give access to a series of galleries with defensive functions. Above it there was a gate of wall and tower of which there are still remains today.

This great 14th century bridge is one of the most outstanding civil works in the town.

Built of brick was the key point of union between the outside of the walls and the castle. It is an element that elegantly marked the entrance to the city.

The general condition of the bridge is impeccable, as it was completely restored in 1981.

The Arch of Medina, at the foot of this bridge, was erected as a commemorative arch in 1769 and the imprint of Mudejar constructions still prevails.”
