Reloj funcional de esfera redonda con fondo de cristal traslúcido, iluminado por la noche, montado sobre marco de obra, dispone de las marcas numéricas horarias en números romanos en color negro al igual que las manecillas. Este reloj actualmente notifica las horas con la campana, antiguamente era un carrillón que anunciaba también los cuartos.

Las muestras o esferas todavía llevan (2018) la marca original de la empresa "ÉLECTRIQUE / BRILLIÈ". Sin embargo, en correcto francés, habría que haber escrito "ÉLECTRIQUE BRILLIÉ".
El carillón municipal fue concebido para tocar, a las doce horas (del día y de la noche) la "Marcha de la Ciudad", que es la melodía que identifica a la Ciudad o Ayuntamiento de Valencia.
Actualmente el carillón de la torre del reloj se encuentra sin uso, y en su lugar tanto los cuartos como las horas son mediante una megafonía con la melodía del Big Ben.
Todos los dias a las 12 h. suena el inicio del Himno de la Exposición o Himno Regional, pero no la Marcha de la Ciudad que es lo que le correspondería.
Intervenciones Fue inaugurado el carillón el día de san José de 1930 a las 12h.
La empresa adjudicataria de la instalación del reloj fue FICHET, SA de Barcelona. Su nombre figura en seis campanas.,
Ya en el momento de la inauguración se quejaron de que "el intenso tráfico" (de esos momentos) impedía oír un conjunto de campanas de escasa sonoridad (ya que no tiene una caja de resonancia adecuada para unas campanas expuestas al aire ya gran altura). El reloj era de la marca BRILLIÉ, y su nombre figura todavía hoy en las muestras o esferas."
