Manassas National Battlefield Park
Now a peaceful, tranquil setting, that description was the farthest from the truth when two major Civil War land battles broke out here in the summers of July 1861 and August 1862. Walk these fields. Witness history firsthand. Learn about the loss of 620,000 soldiers who sacrificed their lives to ultimately unite our nation.
This 5,000-acre national park includes a museum, original structures, picnic grounds, walking and horse trails, and hosts tours and lectures throughout the year. It is located five miles north of the Manassas railroad junction that put Manassas on the map.
