De Plaatpers is a lasting reminder of the Spijkstaal factory that stood on this site from 1938 to 2010. Spijkstaal produced electric vehicles for the transport of goods and passengers, using this plate press. The monument is located on the Vlietstrt.

The plaque at the monument tells us that the monument was erected in 2006. It stands very close where the factory was in the past.
The monument is 2 / 2.5 meters high and stands in the middle of the current urban area. The streets remind us of the history with iron manufacturing. It is called the "Steelmasters" area.
