"History
Construction
In Spain, the line between Tuy and Vigo entered service on March 17 , 1878 , by the Medina-Zamora-Orense-Vigo Company , which also inaugurated, in that year, the connection between Tuy and Caldelas . 3? For its part, the Miño Line arrived in Valença on August 6 , 1882 , built by the Portuguese Government.
The construction of the Tuy International Bridge , which made it possible to cross the Miño River , began in 1885 , with the inauguration taking place on March 25 , 1886 , establishing the connection with the Spanish railway network in Galicia .
Services
In the summer of 1975 , the carrier Red Nacional de Ferrocarriles Españoles operated mixed freight and passenger services, of the bus type, between Guillarey , Tuy and Valença , towed by locomotives of the 7000 and 5000 series; Freight traffic had to be carried out in this way, due to the reduced load capacity of the international bridge . Passenger convoys were carried out through this connection until the end of the 1980s , towed by Series 10,300 or 10,800 locomotives of theSpanish National Railway Network , as they are the only units of this operator authorized to cross the Tuy International Bridge ; These were the only passenger services carried out by Series 10300 locomotives."
