This steam locomotive was built by the Canadian Locomotive Company, Kingston, ON, in 1926. It was one of the first of 45 class P2e/f Mikado 2-8-2 type locomotives delivered to Canadian Pacific at that time. The 2-8-2s became the go-to locomotive for most of CP’s mainline freight runs but were also occasionally used in passenger service.
Canadian Pacific originally donated this locomotive to the Ontario Science Center, but now it sits in deteriorating condition behind the Buffalo Tungsten company in the small town of Depew, New York.
