"Civil architecture of iron equipment. Mixed metal bridge, with continuous multiple-joint beams, in a gantry, with a rectangular span, connected by lattice-type beams, with two overlapping flat decks, the lower one for road circulation and with side walks and the upper one for railway circulation, based on four masonry and stonework pillars, with a subcircular plan, and two quadrangular abutting posts, with two registers, the lower one with a round arch eyelet and the upper one with two arches of the same profile for access to the sidewalks."

"The memory of the border is one of the great symbols of relations between Portugal and Spain. The side walkways hold memories of the many times Sister Lucia, the seer of Fatima, who lived in Tui, crossed to attend Mass in Valença.

Dating from 1886, it is about 400 meters long, with a lower deck for roads and an upper deck for railways.
Halfway across the bridge you'll feel the Jacobean symbolism and the mystique of being in a unique place, putting one foot in Portugal and the other in Spain. Enjoy the River Miño and the fortified cathedral of Tui."
