The Ledoux or Charles Ledoux pit of the Compagnie des mines d'Anzin is a former coal mine in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais mining basin, located in Condé-sur-l'Escaut. Work on the new headquarters began in October 1900. The wells were dug by the freezing process, the first started on July 6, 1901, the second on June 2, 1902. The Ledoux pit began to produce on July 16, 1905. Production was immediately high since the pit also brought up production from the Chabaud-Latour pit until the latter completely stopped producing in 1910 to ensure ventilation. The pit was bombed during the First World War, but it was repaired and able to produce from June 3, 1919. From then on, it became more and more productive. Cities are built in Condé-sur-l'Escaut and Vieux-Condé. Four heaps, nos. 194, 195, 195A and 196, were built over the years in the vicinity of the pit. This one suffered a flood in 1940, when because of the Second World War, the power stations were stopped
