The brother lodge #68 "Christian Polhem" was inaugurated on May 11th, 1918. It emerged from the lodge #18 "Axel Oxenstierna" in Gothenburg. During the first years the lodge met with it's 39 members in different places. This only changed in 1924, when lodge co-founder Emil Rohdin made a room available in the newly built house on the corner of Torggatan and Österlånggatan.
In 1970, the Loge finally realized their dream of owning their own home and bought the house at Strandgatan 18-20. This was designed as a two-storey villa for the regimental doctor Göran Wijkmark by the architecture professor Lars Israel Wahlmann and built in the period 1908-1909. Already in 1914 the villa called "Wijkmarkgården" was sold after the death of the regimental doctor. The house was then resold after a more or less long period, the name of the villa changed with that of the new owners, but kept the suffix "gården".
Accordingly, after the lodge acquired the villa in 1970, it was called "Odd fellowgården" and used the premises for the activities of the lodge. Since the early 2000s, the lower part of the building has been used as a restaurant, most recently by Kanalrestaurangen AB.
