This is the existing police station on Gorée Island.
It belongs to an island listed as a UNESCO heritage site.
It was built on the ruins of a 15th century Portuguese chapel.
As we can see in New York Times and in a plaque of the building It is the oldest building
New York Times: "Because of Goree's strategic location, it served as a stepping stone for Dutch, Portuguese and French colonial expeditions. The oldest structure is the Portuguese church, built in 1482, and used now as the police station. Nearly half the island is a maze of fortifications built by the French, some of them under Napoleon HI."
