[FIN] Vaellusreitillä pääset tutustumaan Bomarsundin linnoituksen historiaan, venäläisiin sotilasrakennuksiin sekä näiden yhteydessä olevaan asutukseen. Nykyään niistä on jäljellä raunioita ja talonperustuksia. Saat myös tutustua suunniteltuihin rakennuksiin, joita ei koskaan ehditty pystyttää ennen kuin Bomarsundiin hyökättiin ja se tuhoutui 1854. Vaellusreitti vie sinut vaihte- levan luonto- ja kulttuurimaiseman kautta myös upeille näköalapaikoille.
Reitti on kaikkiaan noin 4,2 kilometrin pituinen. Matkalla on epätasaista maastoa ja suhteellisen jyrkkiä rinteitä ja noin 35 metriä portaita. Vaikeus- aste vaihtelee helppokulkuisesta keskivaikeaan. Tolppiin ja puihin tehdyt siniset merkinnät näyttävät tietä.

[EN] Along this trail you will visit places relating to the history of the Russian military at Bomarsund, the fortifications and other buildings, including dwelling houses. Today, these can be seen in the terrain as ruins and house-foundations. You will also visit places where parts of the fortress were planned but never built before the battle of 1854. The trail takes you through a beautiful and varied nature, as well as to the best view- points in the area.
The walk is about 4,2 km long, and includes sections that are both une- ven and moderately steep, as well as a 35 metre long flight of steps. The difficulty of this walk varies between easy and moderately difficult. Blue marks on posts and trees will show you the way. There is also application for the phones to guide you thru this trail.
This sign starts the hiking trail, located right next to the parking area at the Bomarsund fortress. There is also yearly trail running competition, but it goes total 28 km, partly on this trail.
