In the "Parcul Valea Morilor" (Valley of the Mills Park) close to the lake is a bronze sculpture of a girl on a skateboard, supported by a boy and accompanied by a Dachshund. The sculpture was made by Petru Glavan in 2017. The dachshund is looking up to the boy and has the front right paw slightly in the air. Fortunately, there is more information about the artwork on the internet:

"A young man from Chisinau carved out his dream, that of riding a longboard with his girlfriend. The statues were installed in Valea Morilor park

Petru Glavan is a student of the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts. He makes sculpture, and thanks to a project organized by a brewery from here, he won the opportunity to cast a dream of his in bronze. He and his girlfriend Natalia dreamed of buying a longboard and walking with them in Valea Morilor park, near which they lived for a while. Today there is only the dream and the statues that represent the two of them.

'You'll see that the characters in the park don't look like us. It was difficult for me to make a self-portrait, transposing my own face into plasticine, the material in which I sculpted. As for Natalia, I hated the thought that half of Chisinau could recognize her, get their hands on her (that is, the sculpture that would represent her) and take pictures. We only kept a few traits of ours.'

'We didn't install the dog and the skateboard because they are too light figures that can be pulled out of the ground by vandals. We will install them in the spring, when the park will be crowded. The inauguration of the composition in the existing formula will take place on Monday, December 25, at 2 p.m.

Know that the puppy is not an invented character either. The dog exists in reality, it is the pet of the Polish ambassador in Chisinau, and around 20 pictures were taken of it, so that the author of the work could reproduce its features with maximum precision in plasticine.

The figurines were cast in bronze by the sculptor Veaceslav Jeglițchi. You probably already realized that you can find the sculptures near the stairs leading to the Rotunda in the Valea Morilor Park. We specify that this composition is meant to be an exhortation to exercise and sport, so we encourage you to give it a go too. Selfies with the statues in the park are welcome!"
