"Ermita de la Virgen de los Desamparados, En 1769 ya estaba terminada la ermita y el 14 de mayo, festividad de la Virgen, fue bendecida solemnemente la imagen, por el cura párroco, José Casanova, en la vieja iglesia parroquial Seguidamente se trasladó en procesión la primitiva imagen de Tomás Molins, a la ermita.
A los ocho años de construida la ermita, se procedió a iniciar las obras del templo actual. El 11 de mayo de 1777 se colocó la primera piedra en el terreno que donó Miguel Conejero y Alonso, hijo de la donante del solar donde se construyó la anterior ermita y albergue. El 2 de abril de 1849, se levantó la pena de excomunión el día 5 de mayo de ese año y, a los pocos meses, el 5 de agosto, se reanudaron las obras del futuro templo que sería inaugurado solemnemente el 12 de mayo de 1860. La imagen de la Virgen se trasladó desde la parroquia a su nuevo templo.
Edificio de notables dimensiones. La fachada, orientada a mediodía, está realizada con sillares y es de estilo neoclásico herreriano. Puerta con dintel, óculo en el centro y frontón triangular con cruz de piedra sobre el vértice y, a cada lado, sendas espadañas con huecos en arco de medio punto.
Planta de cruz latina con capillas entre los contrafuertes y crucero. La nave mide 26,13 por 15 metros. A los pies tiene un pequeño atrio salva-fríos; tres pares de pilares cruciformes apoyan los arcos formeros y perpianos. Una cornisa rodea todo el templo y sirve de base a la bóveda. El crucero se cubre con cúpula ciega sobre pechinas.
La decoración es de estilo neoclásico, pintada en blanco, rosa y dorado, y zócalo de mármol rojo. Las bóvedas se adornan con pinturas representando: La Anunciación, La Visitación, El Nacimiento, Presentación de Jesús en el Templo y Jesús y los Doctores. La bóveda de la cabecera está cubierta con gallones. En cada brazo del crucero, un gran cuadro, uno representa La Coronación de la Virgen, y el otro, Pentecostés; ambos lienzos son debidos al pintor murero Juan Senabre González. El presbiterio está elevado sobre el resto de la nave por dos escalones de mármol blanco; tiene altar de estilo clásico, con hornacina para la imagen de la Virgen de los Desamparados, más arriba, un cuadro de San Juan Bautista.

The transept is covered with a blind dome on pendentives.
The decoration is neoclassical in style, painted in white, pink and gold, and a red marble plinth. The vaults are decorated with paintings representing: The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Birth, Presentation of Jesus in the Temple and Jesus and the Doctors. The vault of the head is covered with gallons. In each arm of the transept, a large painting, one represents The Coronation of the Virgin, and the other, Pentecost; both canvases are due to the Murero painter Juan Senabre González. The chancel is raised above the rest of the nave by two white marble steps; It has a classical-style altar, with a niche for the image of the Virgen de los Desamparados, and above, a painting of San Juan Bautista.
