The whale watching tours take place in the northwest of the island of Sao Miguel. This area is considered to be the best for such tours as it is where most dolphins and whales reside. 3 species of dolphins and sperm whales can be found here all year round. Other species can be seen depending on the season including Blue Whale, Fin Whale, Pilot Whale and Sei Whale.
The tour takes place in an open motor boat with a maximum of 14 passengers. Tours are offered with a duration of 2.5 hours or 5 hours. During the tour, the crew will be guided to the whales by radio from an observation post stationed ashore.

* Due to the size of the boat (14 people) there is no catering along the way.
* The minimum age for participants is 4 years
* It is advisable to book the tour a few days in advance.
* If no animals are actually spotted on a tour, the organizer will reimburse 60% of the costs.
* If there is no chance that animals can be seen due to the weather, the tour operator will cancel the tour in advance in fairness. It is then possible to rebook or to be reimbursed for the entire cost.

Die Whale Watching Touren finden im Nordwesten der Insel Sao Miguel statt. Dieser Bereich gilt als der beste für solche Touren, da sich dort die meisten Delphine und Wale aufhalten. Das ganze Jahr über sind hier 3 Delphinarten sowie Pottwale anzutreffen. Andere Arten sind je nach Jahreszeit zu beobachten, unter anderem auch Blauwale, Finwale, Pilotwale und Seiwale.

* Wenn aufgrund des Wetters keine Aussicht besteht, dass Tiere gesehen werden können, sagt der Veranstalter die Tour fairerweise im Vorfeld ab. Es besteht dann die Möglichkeit umzubuchen oder die gesamten Kosten erstattet zu bekommen.
