"Desconocemos la fecha de construcción de la primitiva ermita, pero por su advocación a San Sebastián, protector contra las enfermedades y epidemias, y su ubicación extramuros de la población, se supone que puede datar de época fernandina o del último tercio del s. Podemos destacar su portada barroca adintelada con frontón partido por una hornacina flanqueada por volutas, con sendos pináculos laterales y uno central, y espadaña rematando el conjunto.

Tras diversos avatares históricos y ser utilizada como escuela a principios del s. XX, como cárcel tras la Guerra Civil, y almacén de cereales en años posteriores, en 1973 sufre su última reforma exterior en la que adquiere su imagen actual, y en 1992 la última interior. Hoy en día comparte advocación con Ntra. Sra. del Rosario, patrona de la localidad cuya imagen alberga."
