En la cara superior se ven las insignias con dos mangas a los lados y los bustos sobre los lados largos, quizás se trata de personificaciones de los pueblos sometidos. La parte central está ocupada por caballeros romanos, tres a cada lado largo y dos en los cortos, vestidos con la túnica corta, el yelmo y armados con lanza y alguna vez con escudo. Están representados en el acto de hacer una carga contra bárbaros en fuga o de trasladarlos como prisioneros. Abajo se encuentran los prisioneros en altorrelieve. El ritmo de la composición es equilibrado y recuerda la procesión a caballo de la base de la columna antonina con efectos análogos de claroscuro dados por el contraste entre el altorrelieve y el fondo liso.

On the upper face are the insignia with two sleeves on the sides and the busts on the long sides, perhaps they are personifications of the subjected peoples. The central part is occupied by Roman knights, three on each long side and two on the short ones, dressed in the short tunic, the helmet and armed with a spear and sometimes with a shield. They are depicted in the act of making a charge against fleeing barbarians or transferring them as prisoners. Below are the prisoners in high relief. The rhythm of the composition is balanced and recalls the procession on horseback at the base of the Antonine column with similar chiaroscuro effects given by the contrast between the high relief and the smooth background.
