This pair of dove are flying toward each other. Each has an olive branch, hard to see, but it is there, in their beaks. Wings high on their back about to drive them down with power to fly. These tombstone are sandstone, and the weathering shows it.

"The dove then became a symbol of purity and peace because God had made peace with man. It also became a powerful symbol of the Holy Ghost, as illustrated in Jon 1;" ~ Stories in Stone, by Douglas Keister, 2004, page 79
This church, originally built near Dardenne Creek, in what is now Busch Wildlife Area. The original church is gone and the cemetery out there still remains.
The congregation moved to this location in 1868, and built this Rock Church. Cemetery is located directly behind the church. When Dardenne Presbyterian Church built a new, modern building, the new cemetery was located behind, and this cemetery became closed. Some burials happen here, but only under very special family circumstances.
